Baseball or Bows...No One Knows!

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Gender reveals have been getting a bad wrap in 2020, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have them. Fireworks aren't necessary, but a celebration certainly is...this year more than ever!

This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend and help plan my cousins' outdoor, socially-distant gender reveal party. We had a BALL!

Baseball, that is!

My cousins are HUGE Mets fans (please hold your laughter), so it only made sense to throw them a Baseball or Bows Gender Reveal party.

Here are a few simple crafts and decorations I made to celebrate the new rookie of the year.

Please Leave Your Autograph

I am such a big fan of saving a memento from my parties. Having a guest sign-in, no matter the size of the event is a must-have for me.

For our Baseball or Bows theme, asking guests to leave their autograph on a baseball seemed like a no-brainer. I was even lucky enough to find a pink and blue baseball at Five Below for only $3! Talk about a steal!

This little table was set up among the area where guests gathered, making it easy for them to find and participate without my having to ask them to do so. Notice our handy-dandy hand sanitizer by the pen. Ohh, 2020.

Team Boy or Girl Photo Props

What's more, I created some simple photo props for anyone who wanted to really show off their gender guess. Cardstock and wooden sticks are all you need for this simple project. A Cricut machine also makes things much simpler, of course. 😉

While I cannot share the file for copyright reasons, it's simple to make your own! The bow image is a free Cricut image. I found a free baseball template online from Victoria Yates and CutThatDesign.com. Definitely check it out!

Which would you have chosen: Bows for a girl or baseballs for a boy? See if your guess is right at the end of this post!

Nuts or No Nuts Party Favor

These simple, delicious favors were a hit! Boy, do I love a good pun.

Nuts or No Nuts, each tag reads:

"I had a BALL at Baby __'s Gender Reveal!"

I simply filled clear plastic bags (Walmart), some with peanuts and others with Cracker Jack to play on our baseball theme.

Well, sort of...

Did you know that Cracker Jack had peanuts in them? Neither. Did. I.

That kind of messed up these whole "not nuts" joke...not to mention I didn't want anyone with a nut allergy to be deceived. Yikes!

Instead, I found these at my local grocery store. They were surprisingly yummy! I do think that this flavor may only available in the fall, however. So if you're gender reveal is during any other season, go with your favorite choice of candied popcorn.

Sweet, right?!

Baseball or Bows Banner

Just a simple banner with some matching balloons. Again, check out free Cricut images and the site mentioned above for images and fonts. It's simple, but a banner just adds so much POP to a party!

It's A Boy!

That's right! The Parents-To-Be are expecting a little boy!! Our little slugger is so excited to meet her future cousin. Batter up!
